RE: Best route to Quartzsite??

You will have plenty of dust and very little vegetation at Q. Pretty desolate area. Not much there. Don't worry about the dog; you will have it on a leash anyhow. We have lived / traveled in the sw for 10 years; never had a "sand burr" problem.

RE: Top 5 Utah State or National Parks for Kids?

I would put Arches right near the top in that there are "hikes" of all lengths or simply just drive it. And Islands in the Sky (north section of Canyonlands) is very close to Moab as well. Not much for 6 & 4 year olds to do at Zion - or for anyone who is not into some pretty serious hiking - except to ride the bus up to the end and back and look at cliff walls. Cap Reef is also one of our favorites. And, if you can, Monument Valley is really, really special.

RE: Thank You Mr. Unknown! Your "bad" reviews ....

Hey, let's not digress to a KOA thing! Been plenty of them. :-)

RE: Thank You Mr. Unknown! Your "bad" reviews ....

A agree on the WiFi importance; I know it is to us anymore. We don't sit around and surf but have gotten spoiled. BTW, KOA bashing is a popular sport on the Forum - and don't want to start yet another one! - I have learned over the years it is the usual very vocal minority ........ the rest of accept them for what they are and chose to use them or not. And BobR ---- my wife and I were born and raised in Geneva. Happy New Year everyone.

RE: Thank You Mr. Unknown! Your "bad" reviews ....

ON rv park reviews you can click the link to see other reviews by the same person. That would help identifying false input to some degree. I still think this Forum is the really good source to get a straight answer.

RE: Thank You Mr. Unknown! Your "bad" reviews ....

I agree with PackerBacker. You need to know the source (RV parks or anything). I think this Forum is probably the best source.

RE: East Glacier NP camping

TT & MoHo is not the same issue as a 5er on tight turns and spaces - steep is no issue.

RE: Moab Utah

Yes, and if you cannot do the hike to Delicate Arch - and some cannot - go to the viewpoints for it for sure at sunset. If you can, go to the upper viewpoint. But being up there is wonderful; but if you stay too long you are coming down in this dark. This is not real good. The thing we love about Arches is you can do short hikes, long hikes (and we have done some WAY back in the boonies) or just drive it. Do it early and later in the day for the colors and shadows. Our website has a couple of pix from Arches on the third page of '07 - '06 Trips.

RE: Moab Utah

Have been to Moab several times - had ethics issue with Spanish Trail (email or PM me if you want details) and it is way south side of town. We have been going to Moab Valley ever since and going there for 5 days this summer. Also feel free to contact me for any Moab info (not necessarily the run of the mill stuff) on Moab. We love it there.

RE: East Glacier NP camping

Love Glacier NP - been there four times and planning another trip there. We have stayed at the KOA - looked at Johnson's and was too tight (roads and sites, etc) and just not to our liking.

RE: Thank You Mr. Unknown! Your "bad" reviews ....

Interesting to be sure. We have been to only about 140 RV parks here in the "West" (south and north) and have been to many of the same ones. Some I agree with - some I don't (Spanish Trail in Moab - ethics issues). And some are too far outdated as I know in some cases that the issues raised have been addressed. And some that I was looking at for future travel. I like info like this and rv park reviews. Thanks for posting. Happy New Year all.

RE: Would like to spend a couple of months in az WHERE

I think you will have a tough time finding something near Phoenix in high season for that price. And, if you did find it, there must be a reason. You have a chance for it in Yuma - which will also be the warmest place to be. I don't think Quartzsite is what you are looking for! L

RE: rvparkreviews.com

I am not sure how the ratings show a 6/10 - all I see in the ratings are a single digit. If they put a 6/10 in their commentary I would think it would mean 6 on a a scale of 10. I use RV Park Reviews TL, Woodalls and this Forum for input when planning a trip going to a new area. In RV Park Reviews I first look at the Ratings numbers - if it is all (say) 8's and 9's and one 3 or 4 I just discount the low rating and look at it. But, as said, different things appeal to differnt people so you need to read the commentary. Be safe. Happy New Year.

RE: Boise, ID -- Creston, BC

I am used to mountains; lived in CO '95-'03 and we have done lots of rv'ing all over the west. Even so, some roads are really not good for even the most experienced mountain drivers. So I live to ask about roads I have not driven. Moun Dir West is good, but personal input is better! Thanks.

RE: Creston - Osoyoos

I better explain a little as people are trying to be helpful and maybe some background would help. A couple of years ago we went to B C and SideHillSoup gave me lots of info. We went in at Roosville (Hwy 93) and essentially did a loop, with many side trips, up thru Rad HS, Revelstoke, Cache Creek, Hope and out at Osoyoos. God willing I / we are starting to think about coming back up to B C if fuel prices stay lower and we have are not broke. This is all very preliminary but I like to "what if" a lot. This would be summer 2010. Thinking of coming in south of Creston, up around Nelson area, over to Osoyoos, up thru Kelowna to Revelstoke, over to either / both Radium HS or Banff (been there 4 times) and back out at Roosville. So just checking out some ideas. Thanks.

RE: Creston - Osoyoos

OK, won't stop and smell the roses, but will stop and eat the fruit. How is the road?

Creston - Osoyoos

How is Hwy 3 for a mid to late July rv trip timeframe? Hwy 6 up to Nelson? Happy New Year - be safe.

Boise, ID -- Creston, BC

Are Hwys 55-95-2-1 good rv roads - mid to late July timeframe. Hwy 55 - per Mtn Dir - sounds "interesting" -- should one continue on I-84 and just take Hwy 95 instead? Thanks. Happy New Year - be safe.

RE: Grand Canyon Trailer Village

You SHOULD be ok. And there are no other options for you in the Park. I don't want to start this in again about driving from Williams, etc. Just go to Search and you will all those postings. I would stick with Trailer Village. MHO

RE: Rocky Mtn NP Campgrounds

Lived in Estes '95-'03 and can't say I heard many complaints - if any - from either campground. "Rocky" is very special and beautiful place and, historically, the Park has been run very well. We will be in Estes a month in July - Aug. Main thing - get reservations asap. The NP campgrounds fill up very quickly usually. If you want any Rocky or Estes info feel free to email or PM me. Be safe.
